Handmade 41

This is an early 20th century rug. It is hand knotted with all wool fiber on a cotton warp and weft as are the majority of all oriental rugs.
The design is geometric in nature and the dyes used are not synthetic. It is a country rug not made in a city factory but likely made by one person on a home loom. It has 6 medallions in its field. The colors are salmon, red, brown, dark blue and a quite rare light blue in an outer border.
This rug is in good condition for its age, has no spots worn to the foundation and has no stains. It does although have a sewn in and glued patch in the middle. This rug has approximately 140 knots per sq in making it a medium woven rug.
This is a stunning rug.

I have been selling on eBay for 24 years and have 100% feedback under the name Acanthus. Oriental rugs need not be so expensive but be aware of machine made rugs as well as factory made rugs from big cities using petrochemicals and underpaid labor. Also, rugs that have been cut down to only corners.
